No stranger to Montclair, Walter ran for 2nd ward Council seat in 2012. He is a 30-year resident of Montclair, along with his wife and children. His professional role is as Parish Business Manager of St. Cassian’s Church in Upper Montclair.
When asked about his interest is joining MAU, Springer said: "I’d like to really know how MAU rolls. The fact that Montclair’s emergency medical response is NOT a Township entity - I think it’s important for the community to know and understand. It may look automatic, but it’s not.”
Springer brings a vast experience in volunteerism. In the Montclair school system, Walter held leadership positions in the PTA, chairing and co-chairing many school events, and gave time and talent to Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence and Human Needs Foods Pantry. Additionally, Springer was a volunteer coach in the town recreation baseball and football programs.
As a prior multi-media marketing professional, Springer has the expertise to help MAU be more visible in the community. That and his financial background make him a valuable commodity. He is a member of Saint Cassian RC Church and serves as an usher and Eucharistic minister.
